It seems that the qualifier is not sanctioned. Is it in the works?
The USA Ultimate 2011 College Regular Season kicks off with the Santa Barbara Qualifier this weekend. Between now and April 3rd, only games between college teams at USA Ultimate sanctioned events will count towards the 10 game minimum for inclusion in the end of season rankings.
For the college teams out there, which USA Ultimate regular season events are on your travel schedule, and which of those are you most looking forward to attending? For teams attending early season events, how will you be balancing overall performance with developing newer players? Any predictions for this weekend event?

Interesting, exciting, controversial or informative, a featured topic will be chosen each week and representatives from USA Ultimate will provide their input in an effort to enhance its communications with the Ultimate world. Props to Sonoma State for winning its pool on Saturday and then making it to semis in the women's bracket at the Santa Barbara Invite. Sonoma State is a relatively new program and I love seeing teams like that improve so much! Brinn Langdale has run the show for D'Vine, but beating the likes of 2010 championships qualifiers UCLA and USC must have been a team effort.
It will be really interesting to see how the teams from this tournament change in their relative strength over the season. All 16 women's teams were from the new Southwest region. Regionals will be intense!
As an aside, Andrew Davis of Freeheel Images took some great photos from the SB Invite.
Three College Regular Season events taking place this weekend.
