Great idea!
With the launch of the new USA Ultimate website, a better framework exists for a rich and detailed archive of the history of our events and the sport. USA Ultimate will be working with volunteers to build our archives to better present and preserve the history of our sport. With that in mind, what would you like to see included in the USA Ultimate archives? What else aside from results, photos, and videos would be compelling, and how would you like to see things structured?

Each Thursday usaultimate.org will feature a different topic of discussion on its message boards in order to engage USA Ultimate members and the Ultimate community around the world. The idea is to encourage discussion about some of the current events happening in the sport of Ultimate, and to collect opinions, ideas and feedback from our members and athletes across the globe. Interesting, exciting, controversial or informative, a featured topic will be chosen each week and representatives from USA Ultimate will provide their input in an effort to enhance its communications with the Ultimate world. Please send topics you’d like to see discussed to matthew@hq.usaultimate.org

Great idea!
I agree; what a cool idea!!
On the topic of videos, I would love to see the VHS archives transferred to DVD. And if the process is happening anyway, perhaps making DVD sets available for purchase (UPA Championships from the 1980s, etc.) would help defray costs. Or give them as prizes to hall-of-famers, spirit winners, Masters champions, etc. A streaming "game of the week" online video could be pretty cool.
Photos and videos in a "best of" for time periods might be an easy way to present, depending on how comprehensive the archives will be. Will this be available online somewhere?
I'm excited to see how this goes. If the process gets underway and you have a more certain direction it's going, you might solicit more specific ideas then, too. Glad this is happening and glad you're reaching out for input.

USA Ultimate has looked for volunteers to convert their library before, but this is a difficult and time consuming task. If I were in CO, I would be volunteering my time to this... They could use an intern or two.
I think it would be nice if I could go back and look at rosters from my college team in the 70's and 80's. It would be great to see the history of the team.
If anyone can add or update anything on the links below, please let me know.

The Ultimate History website also includes the rosters of all USA National and World Champions in all divisions as well as all of the USA Ultimate (UPA) staff and BoD members since its inception, plus much more:

I think it would be great to see historical sectional and regional results from the college and club series.
I'm sure it would require a lot of digging through paperwork but being able to view rosters would be nice too.
Stay tuned for an announcement from two Ultimate history fans about old videos from the '70s and early '80s being saved and made available. Perhaps in time for Xmas :-)
