Thread: Why does an uncontested pick go back to stall 6?

Why does an uncontested pick go back to stall 6?

What's the reasoning behind this rule? Why does the offense get to reset the count by running the defense through a pick?

    Thanks,

... because it's not necessarily solely the fault of the offense in all cases. And so, allowing the count to be as high as with an uncontested foul by the offense (i.e., no max) would be unfair in cases where the defense is (at least partially) at fault.
