The Washington Area Frisbee Club (WAFC) and Central Maryland Ultimate Association (CMUA) are pleased to announce the dates of the 2011 Chesapeake Open. This year's Chesapeake Open will be held the weekend of August 27-28, 2011 in Poolesville, MD, outside of Washington, DC. We will once again host 4 divisions - Elite, Open, Women's and Mixed. Last year's tournament included 10 Open, 6 Women's and 6 Mixed teams that qualified for the 2010 UPA Club Championships and we expect this year's field of teams to be even more competitive.
To submit a bid, please visit our website at www.wafc.org/c-open/register.shtml. Bids are due by June 30, and we'll announce accepted teams on July 5. No payment is necessary at this time, and will be requested after teams are accepted. We expect the tournament fee to be around $500; the exact amount will be confirmed with accepted teams. If you have any questions about the tournament, have a new team contact for 2011, or just want to be kept in the loop, please do not hesitate to let us know.
As always, we'll provide great competition, lined polo fields, water stations on each sideline, merchandise and food vendors on site and more of what you've come to expect from Chesapeake Opens past! The tournament is reachable by all three DC/Baltimore area airports and tournament hotel deals will be announced shortly.
