This week has been extremely cold in many parts of the country, such that outdoor Ultimate is not much of an option. Even when playing outdoors is possible in the cold, there is no question that the game is impacted. Gripping the disc well becomes a challenge, and the joy of getting a big point block is somewhat lessened by the impact of a cold-hardened disc.

How do you stay warm when you are on the sideline, and how do you adjust your tournament routines when the weather is cold? What team strategy adjustments do you make when the weather is the cold? Under what temparature conditions does your team automatically cancel outdoor practice (due to health concerns)? What is your standard cold weather Ultimate attire?

Each Thursday usaultimate.org will feature a different topic of discussion on its message boards in order to engage USA Ultimate members and the Ultimate community around the world. The idea is to encourage discussion about some of the current events happening in the sport of Ultimate, and to collect opinions, ideas and feedback from our members and athletes across the globe. Interesting, exciting, controversial or informative, a featured topic will be chosen each week and representatives from USA Ultimate will provide their input in an effort to enhance its communications with the Ultimate world. Please send topics you’d like to see discussed to matthew@hq.usaultimate.org
